Grimy, downbeat, and dire, this excellent little film puts you right in the thick of the worst, most pathetic roadtrip ever. Mendelsohn’s performance is exceptional, and Reynolds very nearly keeps up with him. As honest and unsentimental a portrait of gambling addiction as I’ve ever seen.
