THOUGHTS:

Amazingly captivating for a mostly silent movie. Redford’s performance, particularly the physical aspect, is outstanding. His debilitated, but highly resourceful character is mesmerizing to watch as he struggles to survive against increasingly desperate odds. I had mixed feelings about the ending, but it would be difficult to fault Chandor for wanting to provide some relief after the unrelenting hopelessness.
