Central Asia: Turkmenia before the Achaemenids

This is the first full-length study published in English to be devoted to the territory to the east of the Caspian Sea. The authors trace its cultural development from earliest times, those of the Old Stone Age hunters, through the “Neolithic revolution,” which saw the introduction of village settlements, agriculture, and the domestication of animals, to the Bronze Age, with its widening horizons, and finally on to the technological advances of the Early Iron Age.
